Biodiversity Assessments



We conduct species surveys and ecological assessments to inform management planning, species status or conservation area status.

We conduct botanical & faunal assessments as part of Environmental Impact Assessment for consideration of development applications.

Our current portfolio includes:

  • Surveys of endangered Western Leopard Toads in Agulhas Plain to inform as to their distribution, population density and possibly conservation status.
  • We have recently completed Ecological Assessments of 65 Biodiversity Sites for Conservation Area Status in City of Cape Town.

Our service record also includes:

  • Botanical Assessments for Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) across the Western Cape & Eastern Cape.

  • Faunal & Herpetological Assessments for EIAs for consideration of development applications.

  • 'Groundtruthing' the proposed 700kV Transmission Line spanning from Northern Cape to the West Coast.

  • Assessment of Biodiversity Value & Management Effectivity of a sample of 50 voluntary conservation sites across the Western Cape for stewardship status.

  • 'Groundtruthing' remnant vegetation for incorporation in the City of Cape Town Biodiversity Network.
